  1. i don’t really think a subscription service is going to help that much. itunes has the best program around, partly because they have a monopoly on the ipod, but until they start offering a) better quality files and b) drm-free files, they’re going to be in trouble. other online stores that are going those two things (like amazon, for instance) are giving apple a run for their money. if apple was on top of it’s game that wouldn’t be happening. not with infrastructure apple already has as company.

i can’t remember the last time i bought something in the itunes store. if i’m going to pay for something i’d like it to be at least cd-quality and i’d like to actually own it.

  2. Blake your exactly right, I can’t get to pumped about it either, so for $129 a year i will have access to STREAM HALF Of itunes Music library? Not download or own it? I have been using the cd’s as much as possible just because of the quality issues involved and have been much happier with quality. My best guess is that for 129 a year i will be able to stream and keep access to everything as long as i keep paying $129 a year. The minute i stop paying for it all that access goes away and so does my music. Like i need another monthly or yearly service to worry about paying for. If i were to pay for it i would want drm free, access to all new releases including music and movies.256 quality and all the content like extras that come with packaging of regular cd’s and dvd’s. Like the artist who now include dvd’s along with their cd’s. If you buy the album off itunes you dont get the dvd but you pay the same price, so everyone keep that in mind when buying from itunes store.I always check sunday ads to see if any extras are included with e music or movies and if there are i buy the physical copy’s.I think itunes is almost there but they have a little catching up to do before i will pay for a monthly or yearly service.
